Tralee Wedding for Fiona and Tom at the Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa
Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
This May bank holiday weekend I shot not one but two Kerry weddings. This was made all the more possible by the fact that they were Tralee weddings. Turnaround time is doable when I am at home overnight. If I am on the road I always feel a little nervous of downloading files to hard drives on the move. Working a couple of miles from home is a lot less stressful the morning of a wedding – I’m sure not to get lost because travel time is short. I had the pleasure of working within a couple of miles of my own home which is also a lot less stressful when getting two little boys off to the child minder for the day. Zipping jackets and packing wellies. The favourite toys like blankie and puppy all have to be remembered. My first Tralee wedding of the weekend was with the lovely and relaxed Fiona & Tom at Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa.
What a chilled out atmosphere I arrived into for the bridal preparations. I was a little early so I just took some shots of the lovely Blennerville stone cottages where Fiona and Tom had their family from Wales stay while in Tralee for their wedding celebrations. This was going of be the site of our shots with the couple and the grooms parents so it gave me time to think about what might work best.
After a few minutes of chat the bride showed me this special presentation box full of a thoughtful symbolic gift which they planned on presenting to each other at their service. Wow what a delight! I know they were people after my own hearts when I saw these cute little hand-made knitted mice – one in a veil and one in a bow tie. They were bought online along with some other quirky personalized items .These are the kind of little gems of ideas all brides would love to have thought of for their own wedding! Once I got some lovely macro shots of these specially commissioned gifts the day flew. I couldn’t believe how friendly and welcoming the bride’s family were. We took portraits of the couple at the bride’s family home locally with a stunning view over Tralee Bay & Blennerville village below.
Ballygarry House Hotel Stunning Gardens – Ideal for Kerry wedding photos.
Then on to the beautiful Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa in Tralee for the service and reception. What a happy and relaxed vibe the couple brought to the day. Of course the hotel is not one of Kerrys leading wedding venues for nothing. The staff of the Ballygarry House Hotel lend theselves to the situation with their professionalism and experience. Lots of photos inside the lovely pavilion and throughout the stunning gardens there. The largest contingent of children and newborn babies that I’ve every seen at a wedding attended the celebrations. That was a lively alternative to the present trend of children free weddings. What a lovely party atmosphere I left there in the Ballygarry House Hotel during this wonderful Tralee wedding. I’m certain there were some crazy moves being thrown on the dance floor after dinner for sure. A lively lot!
