Luttrellstown Castle 11/2/2017
My first shoot in Luttrellstown Castle, and my first time having the wonderful Becky assist me – but not the last on both counts. A recent trip to the East of the country created a few firsts for Ciara O’Donnell Photography all the way from wild & windy Kerry. This was an Irish wedding filled with warmth and sincerity, shared with family and friends, all set in the majestic setting of Luttrellstown Castle. The stunning bride and her adorable daughter Sienna presented themselves to their eager groom Jim in the grand hall for a civil ceremony full of tears – (yes, even my own) – and partied the night away in the dining room and grand receptions rooms of Luttrellstown Castel till the wee hours.
Becky my wrote a lovely blog about her experience. Have a look! And see some lovely photos of the delightful couple’s warm, personal and sincere day below.
On February 11th 2017 Kerry wedding photographer Ciara O’Donnell and this eager new assistant Becky Butler travelled the long and winding avenue to the majestic Luttrellstown Castle in Co Dulbin, with photography gear in toe. This secluded castle is hidden amongst a collection of wise old oak & sycamore trees, standing prominent in the midst of acres of agricultural land – a far cry from the hustle and bustle of city life that surrounds it. We just knew it would be a great day. A grand entrance indeed.
Despite the drizzle, something wonderful was happening that day and and as we opened the doors and stepped inside, it all became very real.
After a brief run through of the venue, Ciara and Becky made their way upstairs, to meet the soon-to-be bride!
Ciara took charge in a charming manner to make the bride and her party feel very much at ease behind the lens. Amongst the bubbles of champagne and buffs of hair spray, the dress was placed upon a sentimental bride.
Before the service Ciara and Becky scurried past a tempting tower of macaroons (prepared lovingly by the groom) to the library, to meet with him and his wedding party to capture the some pre-wedding nerves.
The time had come around before we knew it, ‘camera at the ready!’, Ciara eagerly awaited the decent of the beautiful bride behind a parade of supportive bridesmaids, down the grand sweeping staircase into the grand hall, and the number one star of the show, delightful baby Sienna!
The sermon had friends and family in convulsions of laughter and tears!
After the ceremony crowds gathered throughout rooms in castle and mingled to discuss the joyous celebrations they had just witnessed.
No photographer can prepare enough for events that may unfold during the day. Although the weather was not in our favour, Ciara throughout the day was always ready with her camera in hand to capture the beauty and emotion that flowed through every crack in the historical building – every image reflecting the importance of the joyous event it was hosting.
